Hello Friends,

Recently I wrote about letting your light shine.  The easiest way to do this is remember that Jesus is our focus.  Focusing on Him inwardly will help us to overflow with the Spirit and others will see Him in us.  At church our pastors are preaching from the book of Acts.  This verse jumped out at me:

“One of those listening was a woman from the city of Thyatira named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth. She was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message.”

‭‭(Acts‬ ‭16‬:‭14‬ ‭NIV)

 

Jews knew God from the beginning, but in the New Testament Jesus became the ultimate sacrifice for sins.  Believing in God was good, but now they also needed to believe in Jesus.  We too must believe in Jesus.  We must focus on Him.

 

We must focus on Jesus and believe “God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”  ‭‭(John‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

 

Focus on Jesus and believe

“It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—”

‭‭(Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭8‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

 

Focus on Jesus and believe “”[His] grace is sufficient for you, for [His] power is made perfect in weakness.”

‭‭(2 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭9‬a NIV‬‬)

 

Focus on Jesus and remember what Jesus said “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”

(‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭2‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

 

Focus on Jesus… “But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.”

Friends, life is hard. It gets depressing, anxiety can overwhelm us, and some days seem so dark. But we must seek Jesus and keep our focus on Him.  It’s not always easy, but we take one day at a time and focus on Jesus knowing we will be at home with Him someday.

 

I am a follower of Christ, I am not perfect, but I love Jesus.
