2026.02.13 Jesus Never changes

Hello Friends,

As I’ve thought about what I want to write about today I had a couple things cross my mind and the topic I settled on is my grandmother.   Recently my grandmother turned 95.   Growing up, the only time history interested me was when it was connected to someone that I knew. As I sit and reflect on my grandma’s life, I am marvel at all the “history” that she has lived through.  She has lived through changes in presidents, laws and technology.  Sometimes it’s hard for me to sit and think about all the things that she didn’t have growing up that I had (no fast food!?).  I can’t imagine what life would’ve been like that long ago.   My grandma and I were raised in very different times.   And a lot changed over those years. However, there is one thing that has always remained the same: Jesus.

The Jesus my grandma accepted as her Savior when she was young is the same Jesus I accepted as my Savior when I was young.   The Bible tells us Jesus is the same yesterday today and forever.  This means the same Jesus that walked on the Earth over 2000 years ago is the same Jesus that walks with us today, and he’ll be the same Jesus that walks with the generations 95 years from now.

I love the idea of knowing that no matter how different my grandma’s life has been compared to my own that it’s still the same. Life is hard, no matter WHEN we grow up, no matter WHERE we grow up and no matter HOW we grew up. But the Good News is that Jesus doesn’t care about any of that.  He doesn’t care if we grew up in the 1940s, 1980s, or the 2020s. He doesn’t care if you grow up in the country, the city, or the mountains. And He does not care if you grew up rich, poor, or middle class.  Jesus wants a relationship with you either way.

I love knowing that the Jesus my grandma knows is the same Jesus that I know.  But most importantly, I love that no matter how much time has passed Jesus has not and will not change.

Do you know Jesus as your Savior?  I encouraged you to dig into His Word, find a Bible believing church to attend, and to find a pastor that you can talk to about how you can learn more about Jesus and how He can be your Savior too.

I am a follower of Christ, I am not perfect, but I love Jesus.
