2026.04.03 Good Friday, Jesus and Daily Living

Hello friends,

Happy Good Friday! Growing up, I didn’t understand how Good Friday was considered Good when it represents the day Jesus died.  Our Savior was crucified on a cross and we call it Good.   As I got older I began to understand its Good Friday because of what happens on Sunday.  If Jesus had not risen from the grave on Sunday, then Friday would not be Good.  It’s Good Friday because Jesus died for our sins.  Sunday, Jesus conquered death and was very much alive.

As humans we all struggle with sins. Whether in thought or in deed, we cannot avoid sin because of our humanness.   The Bible says being angry at someone is comparable to murder.   This is why we need Jesus.  Imagine being in a courtroom.  You are the defendant.  The projector just finished showing a summary of all the sins you’ve ever committed.  The air is quiet, then the judge announces that due to the Blood of Christ, your debt is paid in full.  This is why we celebrate Good Friday and the Resurrection. Jesus paid our debt, we just have to accept the free gift of life He has offered us.

So what next? The Bible says “so let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and may glorify your Father who [is] in the heavens.”  Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬ ‭LSV‬‬

We need to be the Hands and Feet of Jesus so others will see Christ in us, and we can present the gospel message. After all Jesus said to “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28‬:‭19‬-‭20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Friends, if you do not know Jesus, ask Him to show you who he is.  Go to a Bible believing church and ask a Christian, they can point you to Jesus.  Most importantly, don’t hesitate, we are not promised tomorrow.  Look to Jesus today.

If you know Jesus then you understand the importance of today, and Sunday.  Today we celebrate because we know what Sunday brings.  Happy Good Friday, friends.  And have a great Resurrection Sunday.

I am a follower of Christ, I am not perfect, but I love Jesus.

Until Next Time,

Liz Allen
