2026.03.27 Emotions

Hello friends,

Shoving down feelings is never a good thing. Our emotions tend to be spring loaded so if we do not let them out, we shove them down further and further until the spring can’t go anymore. Eventually our emotions spring up and everything comes up and we have an erupting volcano of emotions.   Volcanos are no bueno (not good). So it’s best to talk out or work out our emotions as we go.  Easy right?  Wrong!!!  Try as I might I can never seem to work out my emotions on my own.  I don’t always have someone to talk to. I don’t want to be a burden, right? WRONG!!  I often encourage others to share burdens because the Bible says to carry each others burdens.  However, when it comes to sharing my own, I struggle.  Most of my friends have families that need their attention.  My friends are busy with spouses and kids.  I often feel I have no one to turn to, and then feel guilty because Jesus is supposed to be all I need.  Right?  Wrong again.  The Bible is clear we should carry each others burdens, and we should fellowship with fellow Christians.  We need other people in our Christian walk.  We can’t do life on our own.  We need Jesus and the Jesus people (fellow Christians).  I will try to do better and I encourage you to do the same.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭6‬:‭2‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”

‭‭Acts‬ ‭2‬:‭42‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭24‬-‭25‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬-‭4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Remember friends, gathering together is for us, it’s for others, and it’s for the Glory of God.  God doesn’t not want us to be alone. That’s why He put us on earth together.  Gather with friends, look to see if someone around you needs invited to your friend group.  Don’t be afraid to embrace new people.  They might need it.  Don’t be afraid to approach a group of people, joining a group doesn’t have to be scary (or maybe it is, but getting out of your comfort zone is ok).   I just encourage you to speak up. Sometimes you may feel like you are not being heard, and that’s ok. Everyone’s brains work differently, you may just have to repeat yourself.  Just remember to be kind.

I encouraged you to find friends that you can talk to in confidence

I am a follower of Christ, I am not perfect, but I love Jesus.

Until Next Time,

Liz Allen
