2025.11.14 Encourage The Brokenhearted
Hello Friends,
Recently I was looking through the notes on my phone and I came across this poem I wrote. I thought I would share to encourage you to look around you at those who may need encouragement, not only during this holiday season, but all year long.
Have we failed each other in the name of Pride?
Smile on the surface, pain on the inside
We go to church and laugh and smile
Our hearts in pain all the while
We see each other and see their grin
Not knowing the pain they are in
We sit still and listen as we were taught
Then walk out the door with nary a thought
When was the last time you checked on the widows
Or checked on the mom with all the kiddos
What about the man who sits all alone
Or the couple whose children have left all grown
There are many who could benefit from your story
Who need to see how you gave God Glory
Through the good times and the bad
How the Spirit taught you to be glad
Who of you feel sad in your heart
But smile and wave and play your part
Hiding your pain so others can’t see
You cry out to God and make your plea
It’s time to stand and our burdens share
To unite and show each other we care
The Bible tells us to encourage each other
To uplift our Christian Sister or Brother
So I pray for peace for each of you
Now go show love in all you do
I am a follower of Christ, I am not perfect, but I love Jesus.
Until Next Time,
Liz Allen
