2022.09.27 Life As We Know It
Hello Friends,
It's been a couple weeks since my last post. Life has been very busy lately. But I have missed writing and wanted to take some time to write a bit.
Last time, I wrote about friends going through a hard time. Lately it feels like all I hear about is bad news. A friend's father-in-law passes, my grandmother's best friend also passed. A lady at the nursing home lost her husband, and the church prayer chain mentioned another passing. Prayer requests to pray for people with cancer, having surgeries, and many, many more. It can be a lot. I hate watching others go through a hard time. I don't always know how to show support, but I want them to know I'm there. It's hard though, with so much going on at once. Texting my friend all day, and also checking in with my grandmother a couple times. Please don't think I'm complaining, I'm not. Sometimes, just hearing of all the pain in this world makes me feel so sad. My friend who lost her father-in-law said it best last night. She said, "How do people do this without the hope of Heaven?"
Then today, as I was driving home I heard the Matthew West song, "Do Something." It's about a man asking God "Why don't you do something?" and God says "I did, yeah, I created you." How does this go together? It's simple. Christians need to support other people, Christians and non-Christians alike. Sure, you would support a Christian differently than a non-Christian. Christians DO have the HOPE of HEAVEN. Non-Christians do not know this Hope. We need to show them the Love of Christ while we support them. We don't have to neglect their feelings and needs. We don't ignore their pain, but we can ask them if we can pray with them, invite them to church functions for a social and mental break, perhaps get a small group together so it's less intimidating. Either way we do it, supporting each other is the best way to look ahead to the future, and who knows, perhaps we can show others to Christ along the way.
Life as we know it, is so hard, but at least we have the Hope of Heaven. If you do not know Jesus, PLEASE ask someone about Him. Leave me a note, talk to a pastor, or trusted friend. Don't delay, we do not know when Jesus will return, but I for one don't want to miss it, and I don't want you to miss it either.
I am a follower of Christ, I am not perfect, but I love Jesus.
Until Next Time,
Liz Allen
